As the Highways England contractor for Kent & Sussex, we would like to inform you of work on the A26 Beddingham, Cobbe Place, East Sussex
The work to be carried out is High Friction Surfacing. We will also be taking this opportunity to replace the studs and road markings.
Work is expected to start on Sunday 26 March 2017 for 1 night and also Sunday 23 April, assuming reasonable weather conditions.
The work will take place overnight starting at 8pm until 6am.
When complete, these works will prolong the life of the carriageway, enhance the reflectivity of the road markings and improve road safety.
In order to carry out these works there will be a full closure on both evenings with a fully signed diversion route in operation.
All traffic wishing to travel Northbound on the A26 towards Beddingham will be diverted via the A259 towards Brighton. In Brighton, traffic will be sent North onto the A23 towards London. At the junction with the A27, traffic will be diverted East on the A27 towards Beddingham.
All traffic wishing to travel Southbound will be sent West onto the A27 towards Brighton. At the A23 junction, traffic will be sent South towards the seafront. At the A259 junction, traffic will be diverted East to Newhaven. At the junction with the A26, traffic will be sent North on the A26.
Every effort has been made to ensure disruption to traffic and residents is kept to a minimum, but there will inevitably be some noise and disruption generated by these works and for that we apologise in advance. Where excessively noisy operations are unavoidable we will endeavour to complete these before 11pm. Residents in the direct vicinity have been advised.
