    • Polegate Community Library & Hub Update

The Town Council is increasingly aware that residents are concerned about the delays in reopening the Polegate Community library. Delays are being experienced by many of the community library groups and these are unavoidable.

A letter will be sent out shortly to everyone who has already put themselves on our list as volunteers, and those who wish to add themselves to our list are able to either visit the office to complete a form or to download below, complete it and return to the council offices at 49 High Street Polegate BN26 6AL. We welcome your comments on any experience that you may have in running a library and what your expectations are in respect of time available and skills you may be able to offer as a volunteer.

The library working group is currently investigating a number of possibilities with regards to the library in order that the best value and outcome for residents is achieved. Sustainability of the library a serious consideration. Whilst the overwhelming response was to pay for the library, the town council has been notified that there are substantial delays in any of the options available and it is not expected to reopen a library until 3-4 months’ time at the very earliest.

Please bear with us whilst these options are being thoroughly considered, work is ongoing and continues in the background to achieve the best possible outcome for residents.
