Do you enjoy walking? Could you become a Health walk volunteer?
Healthwalks are free, friendly and fairly easy one hour walks, dotted all around the county, all led by trained community volunteers. They are particularly aimed at people who are currently the least active and the idea is that doing a little bit of regular gentle exercise brings huge benefits. The scheme is accredited through the national body Walking for Health, and are funded by East Sussex County Council.
The Polegate Health Walk was on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 10.30am from the Station. There are several different routes, often taking in part of the Cuckoo Trail, and always ending up at the You Raise Me Up café for a cup of tea together. (For many of our walkers, the social aspect is as important as the walking!)
If anyone is interested in joining the team and helping to relaunch the Polegate Health Walk, they can contact Lorna for a chat. But the very best thing to do in the first place is to pop along to one of the other health walks in the area to see how it works.

The next training day is 25/02/19 in February and there will be another one in the Hastings/Bexhill area in March probably.
