    • Polegate Town Council - council tax

    • Polegate Town Council resolved unanimously on Monday night to keep its council tax increase (band D) to only £1.67 per year.
Cuts to the local council tax support grant from Wealden District Council and increasing contract costs have been offset by savings made to other areas of expenditure.
The town council is aware of the residents’ need to keep budget increases and the council tax for the town’s residents as low as possible, whilst continuing with current and planned for services to give good value for money.
The Town Council has great aspirations to improve facilities for the town through its business plan and it is important to recognise that some services inevitably will either be devolved to the town council over the coming years or cease as the town council, district and county councils all face further cuts and restrictions in their budgets.
