    • Update on play areas opening

    • Guidance to parents/carers on using our parks once they are open:

Polegate Town Council are pleased to announce that the play park at Polegate War Memorial Recreation Ground, Wannock Road, Polegate will reopen on Saturday 4th July 2020. This will remain under review depending on updated guidance and usage of the park/adherence to the guidelines. The skate park, outdoor gym, and play park at Oakleaf Drive will unfortunately not be open on the 4th July 2020. These will be reviewed and opened once safe to do so.

Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to open the public toilets, as we are awaiting a delivery of signage to ensure we are compliant with Government guidelines on re opening these facilities. It is anticipated that the toilets will re-open early next week.

Our play areas are unsupervised and therefore we are asking parents to supervise their children to help them social distance. Due to social distancing the play areas may be less busy than usual, but if at any time you feel the park is too busy, we ask that you avoid it and come back at a later time.

Unfortunately, it is impossible for us to clean the equipment throughout the day so we ask that children wash their hands before using the equipment, and if possible please bring your own hand sanitiser and avoid eating or drinking in the park.

We ask all our visitors to respect others visiting the play park and maintain a 2 metre distance. There will be signage around the park to remind visitors of the 2m rule.

We want to make your visit enjoyable, whilst making you feel as safe as possible. If you have any questions that has not been covered here or any feedback on your experience of our parks once they reopen, please feel free to email admin@polegatetowncouncil.gov.uk and we will respond as soon as possible.

We can’t wait to welcome you back, and see the children of Polegate enjoying our play areas once again
